Two words to sum up your weather weekend in San Diego County: cool and windy.
Temperatures are going to remain about 5-10 degrees below average across the board Sunday, topping out in the mid-60s to low-70s for coastal and inland neighborhoods.
The mountains will be even chillier, topping out in the mid-50s and low-60s, while the deserts will range from the low to upper 70s. The mountains and deserts also have a wind advisory from 11 a.m. today until 4 a.m. Sunday. Wind gusts could peak around 45+ miles per hour!
Those Santa Ana winds should stick around Sunday and Monday, before taking a break and then returning mid-week to increase the risk for fires.
Also sticking around with us is a chance for showers Saturday night along the coast, inland and in the mountains, while the latter two could see showers in the morning as well. Most areas see a slight warmup Monday, ahead of the warmest day of the week serendipitously coming on Tuesday — Election Day!
Don’t forget — it’s time to fall back overnight! Daylight Saving Time ends tomorrow, which means we get an extra hour of sleep tonight by turning the clocks back an around at 2 a.m. This also means sunsets will start to happen an hour earlier, with Sunday’s expected around 4:55 p.m.
